Cancer - Important step in cancer fight
February 4 was World Cancer Day '“ an opportunity to push for action to save millions of preventable deaths each year.
Sadly, cancer is still the second biggest cause of premature deaths in Europe.
One in two people in the UK will get cancer at some point in their life, yet it’s thought that at least 40 per cent of cancers could be prevented.

Hide AdI’ve campaigned for a long time for stricter rules on tobacco packaging, so I’m pleased that from May health warnings will have to cover most of the pack.
With lung cancer the leading cause of cancer death in the East Midlands, I hope this will help to reduce the number of smoking-related cancers diagnosed every year.
