Hide AdA spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause was an ‘unknown fault within the engine compartment of the car’.
As a result of the incident, the A52 was closed between the B1192 at the Four Crossroads Inn and Hubberts Bridge Road for a time. This was to allow for a clean-up to take place, with the incident leaving ‘a lot of oil’ on the road, a spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said.
