Town man’s driving ban
A WORKSOP driver has been banned from the roads after police caught him drunk behind the wheel.
George Roper, 23, of Shakespeare Street, admitted drink driving, without a licence, insurance, or an MOT at Worksop Magistrates’ Court.
Staff at Disraeli’s bar told officers a drunk customer had driven away in a Volkswagen Golf. They stopped him in Portland Street where he tried reversing away. He had 88mcg alcohol in 11mls breath.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, a ban of three years and fined £85 court costs.
